YOGACollective

Our mission is to provide a space outdoors or online with local teachers where you can practice yoga. We want you to have the option to take an affordable yoga class with a variety of instructors.

Outdoor classes will be held at Riverview park to the left of the gazebo (when facing it).  Please support the teachers by signing up through the schedule with a drop-in (by donation sliding scale), class pack, or monthly pass! However, no one will be turned away due to monetary constraints.

Magda was drawn to a yoga practice 15 years ago to find relief from stress.  It gave her so much more than she could imagine: breath control, confidence, a voice, and awareness. Seeking a deeper connection, She started her journey at Bhakti Barn Yoga for her first 200-hour training. A few years later, took a 300-hour training with Hudson Yoga Project.

She finds the most joy in designing classes that combine strength, stillness, mobility, awareness, and peace. Whether you are here for balance in your physical practice or balance in energies and stress, there is something here for you.

In her spare time she like to focus on cycling, strength building, somatic stretching, and how to find balance with the yoga practice.

Jeffrey Vock is a professional photographer who just celebrated his 35th year of practicing yoga with his teacher Sri Dharma Mittra. His passion is to use playfulness, curiosity and a positive attitude to guide students of any level into deep relaxation, pranayama  and meditation where they will reap the maximum benefits from this ancient practice. A good yoga practice should feel like a vacation not a work out!

Cara went to her first yoga class in 2010 with a friend who had a free class pass.  Interestingly enough, her friend never went again but from that moment Cara was hooked.  While she could barely hold a down dog in that first class, something about the mix of the physical challenge and the feeling she had leaving class was addictive.   Cara completed her 200 and 300 hour trainings at Hudson Yoga Project in Hoboken and apprenticed under Patrick Franco and Julie Pasqual.

Curiosity is the core of Alex’s yoga practice. Originally finding yoga a decade ago to alleviate back pain, Alex quickly decided she wanted to know everything about this ancient practice. She started teaching yoga in 2016. She is a 500-hour RYT yoga teacher, earning her 200-hour RYT certificate at Devotion Yoga in Hoboken and her 300-hour RYT certification at Hudson Yoga Project also in Hoboken. Alex’s yoga is fun, disciplined and faithful to yoga’s origins. She particularly enjoys sharing yoga with new students; delighting in the energy of a room full of new yogis. She is a yoga teacher and librarian which is not as odd a pairing as you may think! An open mind, a desire to connect, and an ability to communicate clearly are essential to both being a successful yoga teacher and a librarian. Yoga changed her life in so many ways. She hopes that you experience the same life-bettering effects in every class that she teaches.

Melie discovered yoga as part of her acting training when she moved from Paris to New York City in 2008. It's the link between movement and breath that drew her to come back to the mat between rehearsals and later throughout both pregnancy and postpartum. When not attending yoga classes or teaching them, you can find Melie practicing yoga off the mat while playground hopping all over Hoboken and Jersey City with her two daughters and her husband. Melie earned her RYT-500 advanced training at the Hudson Yoga Project, under the brilliant, passionate and oh so inspiring Patrick Franco Jr, Anna Greenberg, Julie Pasqual and Erica Arcé. Continuing her education for prenatal yoga under Kimberleigh Weiss-Lewis. Melie's classes are playful , carefully sequenced and always full of love, light , good tunes and geeky alignment cues.

Kaelyn focuses on creating energetic, joyful flows for yogis at all levels. She decided to make her dream of becoming a yoga teacher a reality while on maternity leave after the birth of her first child in 2018, earning her 200-hour RYT certification from Asana Soul Practice in Hoboken. She went on to earn certifications in Yin, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga from Sattva Yoga in the Heights in 2019 and 2020. Kaelyn loves supporting students at all different points in their lives through movement and breath, including soon-to-be and new parents. She believes that making time on the mat to turn off your phone, tune into your body and let go of your worries is what yoga should be all about.

Meghan

Meghan started consistently practicing yoga eight years ago. First, it was just for fun and then it became a supplement to other fitness classes. However, during the past five years her yoga practice became more of a passion and transformed into something much more. Now, it is about authenticity and alignment in all facets of life - emotional, physical and mental. After more than 750 hours of yoga in Hoboken, she was inspired to teach and recently completed her 200 RYT certification with Yoga Framework (Sarah Flaherty, Jeff Posner, Maximo Pena).

Her practice has been described as an energetic vinyasa flow that is infused with mindfulness and connectivity. She finds joy in sharing a practice with others and bringing people together regardless of what "yoga" means to each individual.

When she's not on her mat, Meghan loves spending time with her teenage daughter, taking any kind of fitness class, hanging out with friends and traveling. You can also find her tending her garden in Riverview Community Garden in the JC Heights or at the beach!
